Bulan Oktober selalu punya nuansa khusus bagi kita umat Katolik. Gereja menamainya Bulan Rosario. Doa yang sederhana ini ternyata punya sejarah panjang sekaligus kekuatan rohani yang luar biasa.

Kalau kita melihat ke belakang, pada tahun 1571 dunia Kristen pernah berada dalam ancaman besar. Paus Pius V mengajak umat untuk berdoa Rosario, memohon pertolongan Bunda Maria. Hasilnya sungguh mengejutkan: pasukan Kristen meraih kemenangan dalam Pertempuran Lepanto pada 7 Oktober. Kemenangan itu diyakini lahir dari doa yang diucapkan dengan iman. Maka sejak saat itu, tanggal 7 Oktober dirayakan sebagai pesta Maria Ratu Rosario.

Beberapa abad kemudian, Paus Leo XIII kembali meneguhkan devosi ini. Beliau menulis banyak ajaran tentang Rosario dan mengajak umat untuk mendoakannya secara khusus di bulan Oktober. Sejak saat itu, bulan Oktober menjadi waktu yang istimewa untuk semakin dekat dengan Bunda Maria lewat doa Rosario.

Rosario sendiri tidak rumit. Bisa didoakan di rumah, di perjalanan, atau bahkan di sela-sela kesibukan sehari-hari. Tapi di balik kesederhanaannya, Rosario menuntun kita untuk masuk lebih dalam ke misteri hidup Yesus: bagaimana Ia lahir, berkarya, menderita, wafat, dan bangkit. Sambil mendaraskan Salam Maria, kita sebenarnya sedang berjalan bersama Maria menuju Yesus. “Per Mariam ad Jesum,” bersama Bunda Maria kita sampai kepada Yesus.

Bulan Oktober ini, mari kita manfaatkan kesempatan untuk kembali setia pada doa Rosario. Entah bersama keluarga, dengan umat rukun, atau secara pribadi, doa ini selalu membawa damai dan meneguhkan hati. Melalui Rosario, kita belajar bahwa doa sederhana bisa menjadi kekuatan besar dalam hidup kita.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
