Yohanes rela kehilangan nyawa demi kebenaran. Ia tidak takut menegur Herodes yang hidup dalam dosa, walaupun ia tahu resiko yang akan dihadapinya. Kesetiaan Yohanes kepada Tuhan justru membawanya pada penderitaan dan kematian. Namun, justru dalam kematiannya, Yohanes menjadi saksi sejati tentang yang terang yang tidak dapat dipadamkan oleh kegelapan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dalam hidup kita, mungkin kita tidak dipanggil untuk mati sebagai martir. Tetapi kita dipanggil untuk menjadi saksi yang setia, meski harus menghadapi ejekan, kehilangan kenyamanan, atau tidak disukai karena kebenaran yang kita hidupi. Dunia seringkali lebih menyukai &#8220;Herodias&#8221; yang menutup telinga bagi suara kenabian. Namun, sebagai murid Kristus, kita diminta tetap teguh, jujur, dan berani bersuara, sekalipun konsekuensinya berat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hari ini kita diajak untuk bercermin:<\/strong> apakah kita berani seperti Yohanes, menyuarakan kebenaran, meskipun tidak populer? Atau kita memilih diam, karena takut kehilangan simpati, kenyamanan, atau kepentingan pribadi? Kesetiaan itu memang mahal, tetapi hanya kesetiaan yang membawa kita pada hidup kekal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Marilah berdoa:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;Tuhan Yesus, melalui teladan Santo Yohanes Pembaptis, ajarilah aku untuk setia kepada-Mu, bahkan ketika kebenaran terasa berat untuk dihidupi&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kisah wafatnya Yohanes Pembaptis adalah kisah tentang keberanian dan kesetiaan.
